We have been producing candles for the church for over 300 years. Easter is the highest festival in the church year. As a recognised specialist for church candles, Easter candles and home Easter candles also have a special significance for us, which we want to live up to year after year: With new symbols and motifs, we offer an up-to-date range every year.
You can find an overview of our Easter motifs in our catalogue, which we will be happy to send you or email to you as a PDF.

Made in the old tradition
From the beekeeper...
According to liturgical custom, Easter candles are made from 55% beeswax. The beekeeper removes the honeycombs from the hive and extracts the honey. The beeswax is then cleaned and bleached. ...
to the wax puller...
When candles are drawn, the wick is pulled through a wax bath. As the wick slides through the liquid wax, a candle strand is created layer by layer. For the Easter candles, the drawn wax strands are hung on a carousel and poured further. The candle strands are cut to the desired length on a marble table. A candle cutter is used to give them a head and a hole. To prevent the candles from leaking, they are dipped again in a hard wax. Finally, liturgical candles are stamped with a stamp indicating the high proportion of beeswax.
New Easter symbols 2026
The Easter candle is the messenger of Easter joy. It symbolises the resurrection of Jesus and the victory of life over death. As a home Easter candle, it brings light and hope into the living room.
H3092 Butterfly - new life
The butterfly emerges from the transformation of the caterpillar – a symbol of resurrection, hope and new beginnings. In its bright colours, it carries the message of Easter: life breaks out, darkness turns into light, and God's love gives us new wings again and again.
A matching card is also available for the Easter motif H3092 "Butterfly - new life".
H3063 Trinity
A candle consists of three elements: Wax, wick and flame. If one is missing, a candle cannot function. The candle is suitable for explaining the Trinity and recognising parallels between the three elements. Just as wax represents the body of a candle, God is the content of faith. Jesus is the wick. He takes the divine content into himself and sacrifices himself so that the flame, the Holy Spirit, can shine. The flame makes God visible as light and tangible as warmth. Light a candle, celebrate the Trinity and show it to the world around you.
H3093 United in Christ - red-blue-gold
H3094 United in Christ - green-blue-yellow
The overlapping circles symbolise the community that arises in faith. What meets and touches each other grows together. In Christ, we find the centre that connects us and carries us - beyond borders, towards the world.
H3085 Dance of life - across the cross
Christ, the Risen One, dances across the cross, through the cross. This dance of life lies at the very beginning of creation. Wisdom plays before the eyes of God - this is how the world comes into being (Proverbs 8:30). But this good creation is repeatedly thwarted by negativity and evil. And yet the dance continues. Nothing and nobody can stop it.
In the song "Lord of the Dance", Christ, the Lord of the dance, sings: I danced on a Friday when the sky turned black. It's hard to dance with the Devil on your back. Oh they buried my body and they thought I'd gone. But I am the Lord and the dance went on.
Through Good Friday, through suffering and death, Jesus Christ dances into Easter morning. And he takes us with him in this dance: dance, dance, wherever you are. I am the Lord of the dance and I lead you. The perfect dance step is not necessary. He will lead us. For what is old will become new, what is dark will become light, what was dead will rise to life, and all will be made whole again in him who is the source of all things, in our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Alleluia. (Prayer from the Easter Vigil liturgy)

Easter symbols from earlier years
H3082 Christ is our peace
In the light of the resurrection, the world shines with new hope. The risen Christ's greeting of peace is the gift that dispels the darkness and fills our hearts with joy. The dove, the sign of peace, flies over the earth, which is enveloped in God's love. At this Easter time, the light of the Easter candle reminds us of the power of life that has conquered death and of our calling as children of God to bring peace to the world.
H3064 Tree of Life
The Easter candle symbol with the tree of life represents the departure at Easter. The tree of life stands for growth and strength. Its green leaves symbolise new life, while golden leaves represent special moments of enlightenment. In the centre of the tree is a golden figure of Christ, symbolising the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The symbol reminds us that Easter is a time of new beginnings in which we seek hope and light. It encourages us to explore our spiritual path and to experience a deep connection to life and divine grace.
H3056 Peace be with you
"We need the risen Crucified One to believe in the victory of love, to hope for reconciliation. Today, more than ever, we need him to come to us and tell us once again: 'Peace be with you'" Easter message of Pope Francis.
Thomas Egger is our in-house graphic designer, who has been designing Easter motifs for over 30 years and takes care of the realisation of our customers' designs.
H3044 Crossed paths
The symbol of Sister Petra Maria Brülisauer from the convent of the Sisters of St Clare in Bregenz has met with great approval. The motif shows two crossed paths. Where they cross, dark lines draw a cross. But there is also a red glow. That's how it is when paths are crossed: It is difficult, but it is often precisely then that we experience life and love particularly intensely. "Passion" is suffering and passion at the same time. The cross is not the end. From the crossroads, the paths lead out again – and up into the light of Easter. Beat Grögli Cathedral priest St.Gallen
This motif was designed by Sister Petra Maria Brülisauer in the convent of the Sisters of St Clare in Bregenz.
The two candles "Laudato Si" and "Brother Sun – Sister Moon" and our three symbol candles with reference to Brother Klaus are also currently available. Responsibility towards creation and peace on earth are topics that will continue to occupy us for a long time to come.
